Billy Kennedy is a former college basketball coach who was born on August 8, 1964, in Metairie, Louisiana. He is best known for his time as the head coach of the Texas A&M Aggies men's basketball team from 2011 to 2019.
During his tenure at Texas A&M, Kennedy led the team to several successful seasons, including two appearances in the NCAA Tournament. He also earned the distinction of being named the SEC Coach of the Year in 2016.
Before coaching at Texas A&M, Kennedy had coaching stints at various other schools, including Southeastern Louisiana, Centenary, New Orleans, and Murray State. He has a reputation for being a strong defensive coach and a skilled recruiter.
In 2019, Kennedy announced his retirement from coaching due to health concerns related to Parkinson's disease. He currently resides in Louisiana with his family.
